Recent Events:
Hello everyone! We are thankful to have another opportunity to praise the Lord, via this letter, for His mighty hand upon the ministries here. We pray that you are encouraged in Him and growing spiritually in His care and provision.
Services at the mission church, Mount Hebron, have been a blessing. Several families are learning the benefits of being faithful to church and hearing the Word of God. Souls continue to be saved during the weekly door-to-door visitation. But, as God begins to reach some and ground others in the truth, the enemy fights back. Financial problems as a result of Mexico‘s falling economy, family members resisting church attendance, marital problems, and severe health issues are some of the battles that have erupted among those coming to the mission. Yet, a core group of believers is learning to seek the Lord’s help in the prayer meetings each Tuesday. The Lord brings trials to teach us to depend upon Him.
Also, the people of Mount Hebron are praying for the Lord to provide funds for purchasing a small piece of land upon which to begin a building of their own. The one being used is rented and is often too crowded. Plans are to take this step of faith and to formally organize as a church this year.
Please help us pray for the mission and the people in the surrounding area. Believers there have no other church grounded in the truth. And, there are thousands of people without any other gospel witness. It is our desire and prayer to help them have an established, solid lighthouse of the truth.
Also, remember to pray for God’s blessings and souls to be saved as we continue in our other ministries: at the Mexican penitentiary, the street ministry and evangelistic outreach, and the gospel tract and literature distribution to the city of Nuevo Laredo and other parts of Mexico.
Other Prayer Needs
--Please pray for brother Raul Montes. Because of the very poor diet in the prison, he has developed a severe and painful case of gout. Without money, good medical attention, or the help of any outside family and friends, his condition has grown worse. Tammy and I are endeavoring to take him some green vegetables and other foods to help him recover.
--Pray for Balisario, a five year old boy who attends Tammy’s Sunday school class. His kidneys have failed. He is on dialysis and has been waiting for weeks to receive a transplant. His father, Juan, was tested positive and plans to donate a kidney. They are waiting for a cold infection to clear up. Juan has not received the Lord as his Savior.
--Pray for other children in Tammy‘s class that have recently been saved.
--Pray for Hugo Martinez, who we mentioned in our last prayer letter. He has recently left off from our ministries.
Steps of Faith
“And who is sufficient for these things?” II Cor. 2:16
Paul was about to defend his ministry in Christ and to explain spiritual blessings far beyond anyone’s earthly ability to attain. He prefaced this by saying that no one but Christ is sufficient for this service. And, Him in us.
When we speak of “our ministry“, we must be careful to use this only as a manner of speech and careful to realize that true, life-giving work can only be done by God. We are but instruments in His hand.
